Mortal Kombat - Early Jax Arm Designs

Work done early in 2019 at Weta Workshop helping establish some key design elements for Director Simon McQuoid's Mortal Kombat film.

Jax presented a unique challenge, after losing his real arms he would be given a new makeshift set of robotic limbs. Only by harnessing the power of his arcana would the arms evolve into a much stronger set. The augmented arms needed to retain a visual link to the earlier versions, we explored this through their materiality and construction.

With these particular designs, I tried to push a more grounded military feel, referencing his history in the arm forces.
